GALERIE PERROTIN

The Perrotin gallery is a set of contemporary art galleries (Paris, Hong Kong, New York, Seoul, Tokyo and Shanghai) founded by Emmanuel Perrotin from the 90’s in Paris. It is probably one of the most famous galleries from this list, and is located in the Marais, in a mansion. You can find installations, paintings, sculptures, videos, photographs, or even performances. Amongst the fifty or so artists exposed there, there’s Daniel Arsham, Takashi Murakami, Maurizio Cattelan…

GALERIE TEMPLON (RUE BEAUBOURG)

With more than 400 exhibitions, the Daniel Templon gallery has won an international reputation and is now one of the most recognized art galleries of Europe since its creation in 1966. Today, the gallery represents 30 or so international artists. Its program seeks to promote a dialog between different generations : established artists from “classical” contemporary art, international artists from middle carreers, and young artists’ experiences. The last exhibition that made a mark on 2nd Try is the one from Ivan Navarro, you can find a small recap of the exhibition on 2nd Try’s Instagram account.

GALERIE GOLDSHTEYN-SAATORT

This is the latest gallery in Paris, it opened its doors in December 2020 in the 7th arrondissement. Maybe the timing was not perfect, but the success was already there. Founded by Alla Goldshteyn, Romain Tortevoix and Jonathan Saada, the gallery wants to be a true space of dialog between artists and their public, with an original touch : a bar. If you’re not really interested in the artists, maybe the bar would make you come visiting anyway.

More than a gallery, Loft du 34 is an atypical place dedicated to street art. It is located in an old apartment converted in a 160 m2 exhibition space. What we liked about this place are the new creations that accompany its retrospectives (phosphorescent canvas, varied medium or wood sculptures).

Founded by Vincent Sator, the Galerie Sator has a calling : to promote emerging French and international contemporary artists. Already installed at San Gimignano, Beijing, La Havane, Rome, Sao Paulo and Moulins (77), Galleria Continua expanded itself and opened its doors in Paris in the beginning of 2021 with the famous artist JR. It is a mix of a supermarket and a contemporary art gallery, so you can buy some pasta as well as an art piece !
